The File Storage team within OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP) is responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of all file data stored in OneDrive and SharePoint, managing billions of files and exabytes of storage at global scale. As an infrastructure team, we power every SharePoint feature that relies on file storage and retrieval, with a relentless focus on reliability, efficiency, and data durability. Our mission is to deliver a seamless and trustworthy experience for customers by building resilient systems that safeguard data and optimize performance across massive distributed environments.
Requirements
- Experience coding, debugging, and problem-solving cloud scale components.
- Experience with building cloud-scale infrastructure components.
- Experience designing cloud-scale services and server/service management features.
- Awareness, passion, and experience related to cloud scale distributed design and patterns.
- Familiar with secure software design concepts.
- Experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, or Java.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver systems that enable partners and ISVs to migrate from other cloud providers.
- Improve core systems performance and efficiencies, and ensure zero customer impact throughout the change management cycle.
- Deliver systems to meet our business continuity planning goals, provide telemetry for optimizing the service and drive our response time for detecting and resolving service issues down.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Proven experience leading and managing projects involving multiple engineers.
- Proven track record of delivering projects that include multiple components.
- Ability and eagerness to work across and partner with multiple engineering teams to achieve business goals.
