GM is looking to improve customer experiences, drive sales, and expand its eCommerce solution for physical products, including Parts & Accessories, and GM Energy Products, while providing a seamless customer experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in web application development with a focus on backend technologies (Java/J2EE, Spring boot, Rest Apis, Micro services, Message Queues- Kafka, IBM MQ, Azure topics, etc).
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture, documentation and design of new and existing systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
  • Knowledgeable in cloud-based infrastructure (OCF, Azure, AWS, GCP etc.) including development of microservices using CI-CD with Spring, Spring boot, PaaS capabilities.
  • Experience with commerce applications like HCL commerce, Shopify Custom builds, Mirakl Market place is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Automation tools like Playwright, & Browser Stack.
  • Knowledgeable with Java script, node JS and other UI technologies
  • Experience with observability tools like Data dog, Dynatrace etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop competency across our complete Commerce backend technology stack.
  • Weigh architectural trade-offs and apply synchronous and asynchronous design patterns
  • Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration
  • Architect and implement scalable, high available, reliable services across commerce platforms using latest technologies and integrating with Tax, Payments, Inventory, Products, customer service applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Lead code reviews, establish best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth and development.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Must be available for production support, perform root cause analysis, resolve incidents, solve problems.
  • Be available to report to the GM Georgia IT Innovation Center or GM Global Technical Center or Austin Innovation Technical Center or Mountain View Technical Center three times per week, at minimum.
