GM is looking to improve customer experiences, drive sales, and expand their physical product eCommerce solution to new lines of business, potentially exploring marketplace approaches. They aim to rapidly ideate, iterate, and launch innovative solutions to connect with current and future customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in web application development with a focus on backend technologies (Java/J2EE, Spring boot, Rest Apis, Micro services, Message Queues- Kafka, IBM MQ, Azure topics, etc).
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture, documentation and design of new and existing systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
  • Must be able to do performance analysis, suggest and lead team through performance improvements.
  • Knowledgeable in cloud-based infrastructure (OCF, Azure, AWS, GCP etc.) including development of microservices using CI-CD with Spring, Spring boot, PaaS capabilities.
  • Be available for production support, perform root cause analysis, resolve incidents, solve problems.
  • Experience with commerce applications like HCL commerce, Shopify Custom builds, Mirakl Market place is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Automation tools like Playwright, & Browser Stack.

Responsibilities

  • Develop competency across our complete Commerce backend technology stack.
  • Weigh architectural trade-offs and apply synchronous and asynchronous design patterns
  • Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration
  • Be a tech lead and will actively mentor other engineers on the team
  • Explore and pitch product ideas and tech initiatives with cross functional teams
  • Initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and org-wide critical programs
  • Architect and implement scalable, high available, reliable services across commerce platforms using latest technologies and integrating with Tax, Payments, Inventory, Products, customer service applications.

  • Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Georgia IT Innovation Center or GM Global Technical Center or Austin Innovation Technical Center or Mountain View Technical Center three times per week, at minimum.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Be a tech lead and will actively mentor other engineers on the team
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth and development.
