Microsoft's AI Frameworks team is developing AI software to enable AI model execution across a wide range of devices, from supercomputers to mobile phones and browsers. They are also building software stacks for novel AI accelerators in collaboration with hardware teams and optimizing model training and inference for ML researchers and developers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with C/C++
- 4+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- 1+ years of experience with Python
- 1+ years of experience working with embedded systems
- Technical background and solid foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design
- Understanding of networking stack / protocols
- Exposure to Deep Neural Network training and inference and experience in one or more deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, ONNX, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable architectures and designs.
- Perform software development in C/C++ and other languages.
- Collaborate broadly across multiple disciplines, from hardware designers to ML developers.
- Help establish and drive the adoption of good coding standards and patterns.
- Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, schedule deliverables.
- Work on the fundamental abstractions, programming model, runtimes, libraries, and APIs to enable large scale training and inferencing of models on novel AI hardware.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
