Microsoft's CoreAI team is building foundational platforms, services, programming models, and developer experiences for Generative AI, enabling developers and enterprises to create intelligent software. The CloudMine team within CoreAI needs to build and operate a data platform for key engineering artifacts to fuel security, compliance, and productivity analyses across major Microsoft product lines.
Requirements
- coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Understanding of engineering infrastructure, tools, and workflows.
- Analytics skills in research, experiments, and insights generation to solve business problems.
- Experiene with building dashboards and reports for visualizing complex systems, interactive data, critical business metrics, and other similar reports.
- Experience and expertise working with data products such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization technologies such as PowerBI, Tableau, Grafana, or similar.
- Prior experience working as a software engineer.
Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize scalable data pipelines and mining frameworks, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and secure.
- Curate high-quality datasets that support critical decision-making across multiple teams.
- Conduct in-depth performance analyses to continuously improve data delivery and system responsiveness.
- Develop new data collectors and integrations across engineering systems.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and compliance of the data platform itself.
- Design and evolve durable, scalable system architectures that balance long-term maintainability with short-term delivery needs, making thoughtful engineering trade-offs.
- Contribute to and lead the development of core platform components and reusable building blocks that accelerate team velocity and product innovation.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience.
- Leads by example and work with others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across the platform.
- Build consensus across engineering teams and partner organizations by driving clarity, alignment, and shared ownership of technical direction.
