Vannevar is building an AI-powered digital forensics platform to accelerate device analysis, reducing investigation times from weeks/months to hours, and is seeking a backend engineer to scale this product.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Expertise in Typescript, Node js, Opensearch/Elasticsearch, Postgres, and AWS
- Prior experience using Python for data engineering in production
- Prior experience in reverse engineering
- Prior experience developing AI-native products
- Competency in frontend (React)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship the data layer of an AI-powered digital forensics platform
- Reverse engineer new data sources and types to extract useful information
- Architect and operate cloud data pipelines to automate ingestion at scale
- Design, implement, and maintain storage, search, and AI systems for forensics data
- Contribute foundational building blocks like data models, apis, and system architecture

- Active Security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Willingness to travel at least quarterly to visit users, debug issues, and collect product feedback
- The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000 + equity + 401K match.
- Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, relevant education, and/or training.
