DoorDash is looking to build a scalable and reliable compute framework layer capable of processing trillions of data points per day to enable timely business-critical decision-making, facilitate rapid experimentation, and support the training and deployment of ML/AI models for real-time personalization.

Requirements

• Prior experience in Systems Engineering - building meaningful big data processing systems at scale, and experience with big data compute engines such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
• Familiarity with Datalakes and table formats such as Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg.
• Familiarity with a cloud based environment such as AWS.
• Professional experience with at least one of the programming languages such as Java, Scala Python or Go.
• Good knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Drive vision & strategy for building the frameworks charter and position it to handle the challenges of a rapidly growing business.
• Scale the analytical platform for the increasing amounts of data and use cases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders building solutions on top of the platform
• Foster a positive and supportive work culture, upleveling others.
• Provide technical leadership and own execution to enable the vision of a cost effective, self-serve analytics platform leveraging open source products strategically.
• Bring expertise in building and operating high scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability and cost efficiency.

Other

• B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• 1+ years of experience at the senior level, driving and delivering large initiatives.
• Located or willing to relocate to the Bay Area or Seattle.
• Must be located in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Seattle for this hybrid position.
