Transcarent is looking to solve the business problem of providing a seamless and efficient health and care experience for its users by building and maintaining a robust cloud platform that enables other engineers to quickly and efficiently create and deploy their applications and services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Software Engineering and Cloud Platform development roles.
- 4+ years of DBA experience, preferably in cloud environment data storage solution.
- Experience with distributed and cloud-based architecture patterns and best practices.
- Expertise in database (AWS Aurora MySQL and Postgres) administration.
- Proficiency in cloud-based databases maintenance, upgrades, backup strategies, monitoring, and optimization of performance, resiliency and security.
- Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on serverless and containerized solutions and their orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS).
- Expertise in TypeScript or any static-typing programming languages is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage the shared MySQL and Postgres database clusters such as keeping the database engine up to date, monitoring the performance of databases and optimize them where possible.
- Build, and maintain shared AWS-based infrastructure powering company applications and services running on ECS, EKS, and Lambda platforms.
- Develop infrastructure as code automation platform using TypeScript and Python to automate AWS resource provisioning, enabling other teams to work independently and efficiently with AWS infrastructure.
- Provide tooling, guidance, and consultation to engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers to meet company standards and grow their technical expertise.
- Be able to provide efficient support for engineer teams which do not have production sensitive data access.
- Develop cloud application resiliency enabling solutions, participate in on-call rotations for AWS infrastructure issues, and serve as a subject matter expert for specific AWS domains.
- Actively contribute as part of a globally distributed team using agile principles for self-organization and continuous improvement.
