Boeing Global Services (BGS) Mission Software & Services team needs to support Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) & Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization by leading C-17 avionics projects, managing the Aircrew Data Transfer Device (ADTD), critical Avionics Development Reports (ADRs), and cybersecurity-related implementations. The goal is to steer design and integration practices to improve maintainability, eliminate technical debt, and scale software release capability as the organization grows its product portfolio and implements novel modernization approaches.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience programming in C, C++ or Ada
  • 9+ years of experience with software development on Windows or Linux
  • 9+ years of experience working with development, deployment and version control tools (e.g., Eclipse, Git, Jira, VersionOne)
  • 5+ years of experience with avionics and aircraft systems
  • 5+ years of experience with any of the following Boeing enterprise standard or similar Systems Engineering tools: ClearCase, ClearQuest, DOORS, BORIS, Sherlock, VersionOne
  • Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software
  • Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations
  • Leads handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis
  • Leads execution and documentation of software research and development projects
  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
  • Debugs and leads resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
  • Leads development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks

  • Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
