The New York Times is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the DevEx Platforms team to design and build UX for NYT's internal developer platform, with a focus on creating GenAI-augmented developer experiences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience improving developer experience through workflows, documentation, and capabilities of the internal platform.
- Experience designing and building cloud native applications using Golang
- Hands-on experience building software using GenAI tools, like GitHub's Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code.
- 3+ years of hands on experience managing and deploying resources in AWS.
- 2+ years of experience building software in python
- 2+ years of experience managing workloads deployed on Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- You will explore and build tools to support our product engineers with GenAI-augmented developer experiences, in collaboration with product managers and internal AI community.
- You will contribute to our internal development platform.
- You will have a focus on created GenAI-augmented developer experiences.

- This is a hybrid remote/in-office role. Work from home up to 3 days a week.
