Waymo is looking to enhance the performance, safety, and scalability of its self-driving system by developing and evaluating new metrics and models, and integrating them into fleet-wide data.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Test Engineering for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other complex hardware/software systems
- Strong background working with data
- Solid understanding of physics, geometry, and dynamics
- Proficiency in C++, Python, and SQL
- Ability to learn and utilize new frameworks quickly, employing AI tools or otherwise
- 5+ years industry experience
- Experience building and testing autonomous systems
Responsibilities
- Developing metrics and models to evaluate and enhance the performance, safety and scalability of our self driving system
- Evaluating new models or methods to assess their performance and applicability to problems
- Finding new ways to gather the required data needed to improve our metrics and models
- Communicating benefits and limitations of new models and metrics to partner teams
- Integrating and deploying metrics and models on fleet-wide data
