Flock Safety needs an engineer to help build, maintain, and scale the fleet management services that help keep thousands of devices running smoothly, to support the exponential growth of live devices and provide real-time intelligence to communities, law enforcement, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Typescript (Node) as web services in addition to general API design
  • Confidence in a modern web framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc)
  • Familiarity with various data stores and knowledge of how to interact with them
  • Confidence in SQL
  • Familiarity with Docker and how to run locally and deploy remotely via Helm to Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with AWS and experience with managed services like S3, API Gateway, SQS, etc
  • Experience with React and Typescript

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the team in tracking, building, and scaling alarms and statuses of the thousands of devices in the field for all internal teams
  • Working on tasks for the sprint with support
  • Understanding current processes and procedures
  • Performing role with decreased need for guidance
  • Completing features with little support
  • Navigating through the code base
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
