Waymo is looking to accelerate the safe deployment of its autonomous technology by leveraging offboard resources to help self-driving vehicles in highly ambiguous or complex situations.
Requirements
- Experience with distributed systems
- Experience with C++, Java, or related structured programming language
- A generalist mindset, willing to learn a breadth of new skills
- Experience bringing technical and non-technical groups together
- An investigative mindset, i.e. experience taking an “I don’t know but I can figure it out” approach
Responsibilities
- Leverage offboard resources to help our self-driving vehicles in highly ambiguous or complex situations.
- Prototype and deploy safe, robust, and reliable solutions to real-world challenges in autonomous driving.
- Work with onboard engineering teams to anticipate and plan for issues at the edge of our self-driving capabilities.
- Work on mission-critical systems and infrastructure to support Waymo’s state-of-the-art fleet.
- Have the opportunity to work on the full length and breadth of the problem (web apps, distributed systems, data analysis, etc)
- Work closely with our users, the Fleet Response Operations team.
Other
- BS degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
- 3+ years of industry experience
