The Umbra team at Expedition Technology (EXP) is tasked with developing, deploying, and maintaining the Training Data Storefront (TDS), a central repository of AI/ML annotations and models for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC), to address critical defense and intelligence problems.
Requirements
- Experience with some front-end technologies and frameworks, such as HTML, CSS, React/Angular or other major UI platforms – ex: Vue (You don't need to know all technologies listed, just some of them.)
- Experience with Javascript and Python
- Experience with REST APIs, experience with UI/UX design and integration with data-intensive backend systems
- Experience with Cloud applications – AWS preferred
- An understanding and working knowledge of source control repositories (Git preferred)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on design and implementation of UI/UX strategy
- Design UI architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new web applications
- Break down complex requirements and concepts into visual designs and workflows
- Mentor other engineers to improve the ability of the engineering teams to self-diagnose UI/UX issues and identify opportunities for improving human-machine interfaces
- Build and maintain a framework of modular web components that can be used in multiple products
- Create and evaluate interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience
Other
- United States Citizenship is REQUIRED for US Government security clearance eligibility
- Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, UI/UX development, or a related field
- An active TS/SCI security clearance (at the moment, we can only hired cleared engineers)
- 5 years+ professional experience in a similar role
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, engineers, and other teams to ensure that designs are successfully created and implemented to achieve the user goals
