Google needs a Senior Front-End Engineer to play a critical role in the evolution of Google Flow, a professional-grade tool that empowers creators to generate high-quality video content using GenAI, and to contribute to the company's mission to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, specifically in TypeScript or JavaScript.
- 3 years of experience with front-end and user interface development using modern web frameworks such as Angular or React.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture, including component design and state management.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and front-end performance optimization.
- Experience with Modern Angular (Signals), Kotlin, or building applications on large-scale internal infrastructure.
- Experience developing accessible technologies and translating complex Generative AI models into intuitive user interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Write and test high-performance front-end code using TypeScript and Angular to build novel generative AI features for Google Flow.
- Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to drive the architectural migration from a React prototype to a scalable Modern Angular codebase.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., establishing strict typing standards, component reusability, and performance efficiency).
- Contribute to technical documentation and educational content to support the team's transition to a new framework and onboard new engineers.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve UI/UX bugs to ensure a stable experience for weekly releases to professional users.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role, leading technical decisions or mentoring junior engineers.

- US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
