FanDuel is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build features for their DFS Web team, focusing on the homepage, lineup entry, and contest participation. The role aims to lead the UI strategy for FanDuel's website, ensuring security, flexibility, and a great customer experience in these critical areas, while also addressing complex and ambiguous problem areas in existing or new software initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience developing mainly frontend applications with React, React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript or similar (Angular/Vue).
- Experience ideally across mobile and web applications with regular releases.
- Good grasp on relational, non-relational databases, messaging queues and handling concurrency.
- Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances.
- Knowledge of release process best practices for APIs and services within production systems.
- Strong experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS.
- Understating of containers (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Responsibilities
- Take the long-term view and consider where each system is at in its life cycle and where appropriate, proactively fix architecture deficiencies.
- Make existing systems simpler (e.g. by consolidating redundant systems, deleting unnecessary code, or removing/updating out of date documentation).
- Dividing a software project into parallel work that can be performed by you and other software engineers and then reassembled successfully into a cohesive launch.
- Coaching and developing other software engineers' technical skills.
- You take ownership of team architecture, providing a system-wide view and design guidance.
- You write simple and extendable code following standards and best practices. You test your code thoroughly.
- Drive engineeringِ engagement best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc.) and set standards.
Other
- Degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of experience.
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Knowledge of sports and/or experience working within a heavily regulated industry is a plus.
- Familiarity working in an Agile environment.
- Passion for working within a fast-paced environment and can adapt to change.
