FreeWill is looking to hire a Full Stack Senior Engineer to help build and improve their products that make powerful donation methods easier and more accessible for donors and nonprofits. The company aims to increase gift commitments for nonprofits and expand its reach.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production systems for complex web applications
- Proficient in web architecture including React, API design, and developer tooling
- Familiar with TypeScript, Express, SQL, observability, performance optimization, continuous integration, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure
- Exposure to AI/ML APIs, frameworks, or tools and interest in applying them creatively in production environments
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and building scrappy, scalable solutions that evolve quickly with product needs
- Experience leading projects on teams consisting of multiple engineers, a product manager, and designer
- Business-to-Business and/or Business-to-Business-to-Consumer experience preferred, experience with fintech and/or estate planning a plus
Responsibilities
- Independently own the design and development of new features
- Drive technical initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, and sustainability for the team
- Work on a modern stack, including React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS
- Contribute to the rapid iteration and experimentation required in a 0 to 1 product phase, applying creative problem-solving to ambiguous challenges
- Explore and integrate AI/ML capabilities into products where they can create meaningful value for users
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and share knowledge through code reviews, pair programming, 1-1 conversations, and broader team trainings
- Interact closely with a diverse team across legal, growth, sales, design, and product
