Microsoft Security aspires to make the world a safer place for all by reshaping security and empowering users, customers, and developers with a security cloud that protects them with end-to-end, simplified solutions. The Microsoft Purview team is responsible for a broad suite of data governance, data security, compliance, privacy, and risk management solutions, and is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack to help ensure software, tools, and code meet the highest standards for security.

Requirements

  • 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, with problem solving, debugging and analytical skills.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, or maintaining secure software systems, with applied knowledge of authentication, data protection, access control, and secure coding practices
  • 2+ years experience in design and implementation of large-scale cloud services.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available cloud services or distributed systems on platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud environments, with production ownership and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • 3+ years of experience building systems with emphasis on reliability, durability, and operational efficiency, including experience with live site operations, incident response, and performance optimization.
  • 1+ years of experience designing and operating scalable ML infrastructure and pipelines using tools such as Azure ML, Kubernetes, or equivalent, with hands-on implementation of observability, model versioning, and secure deployment practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and owns the architecture of products and solutions by creating proposals, testing design hypotheses, and developing complex design specifications.
  • Explores and evaluates multiple design options for complex scenarios, outlining strengths and weaknesses of each.
  • Independently collaborates with architects to build and refine complex products and solutions, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Identifies and integrates dependencies into design documents for a product, application, service or platform.
  • Ensures security, compliance, performance, and reliability across the stack.
  • Leads by example to deliver secure, performant, and maintainable code aligned with design specs.
  • Reviews product and test code against team standards to ensure appropriate coverage and fit for the solution area.

  • 3 days / week in-office
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
