The business problem that Sam's Club, a division of Walmart, Inc., is looking to solve with this Senior Software Engineer position is to develop and maintain robust software systems to support the company's operations and customer experience, leveraging technologies such as Java, Spring Framework, Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architectures.
Requirements
- Development tools: Eclipse, Spring STS, JetBrains, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Grunt, SVN, TFS, Tomcat, Weblogic, etc.
- Programming: Java, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate framework, C/C++, NodeJS, Python
- Cloud experience: Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, microservices architectures (REST), event-based architecture (JMS, Kafka, Active MQ, etc.), stream technologies (Storm, Spark, etc.).
- Databases: relational (Maria, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2, Informix), NoSQL document storage (Cosmos, Mongo, etc.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of JAVA as well as Agile methodologies.
- Experience with test automation solutions and system design principles.
- Familiarity with generative AI and agent-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain robust data pipelines to support ETL processes, ensuring reliable data transformation and delivery across platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in architecting and deploying test automation solutions at scale.
- Apply system design principles to architect resilient, high-performance solutions, and contribute to generative AI and agent-based systems that enhance automation and intelligence in software delivery.
- Oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done.
- Translate requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing insights necessary to think beyond the status quo.
- Help cross-functional teams to solve for business problems and develop solutions that enable us to redefine a “best-in-class” customer experience.
- Encouraging the project teams that you oversee to work collaboratively and to aim for insight-driven outcomes.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
