Google's Pixel Audio ML team is looking to develop and support ML features across generations of Pixel devices, innovating, executing, and validating audio solutions through offline simulation and real-time on-device hardware. This involves interacting with partner teams to innovate and design algorithms and android stacks to impact future Google audio technology roadmaps across the Pixel ecosystem.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience with audio or speech generative modeling, using auto-regressive models, diffusion models, or transformer-based architectures.
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) conferences on audio/speech processing (e.g., ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICASSP and Interspeech).
- Experience with mainstream ML training frameworks such as TensorFlow, JAX, and PyTorch.
- Experience in ML based speech codec, source separation, audio enhancement research and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop GenAI audio/speech features from model research to on-device inference, using auto-regressive models, diffusion models, or transformer-based architectures.
- Drive the research and development of AI/ML based on-device audio/speech features.
- Deploy and scale Machine Learning (ML) solutions across Google Android platform and Pixel ecosystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as DeepMind and Google Silicon) for feature development and landing of audio on-device features.
- Own ML model development, training and optimization, and contribute to model inference optimization into Android Kernel/HAL.
- Design and fine tune ML models for Pixel devices, and contribute to the audio and speech algorithms development process.
- Contribute to rapid prototyping and delivery for audio features.
