Google Beam is a new communication technology that aims to solve the problem of people wanting to be together but being unable to due to distance, by enabling immersive, face-to-face conversations through 3D imaging and spatial audio.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in developing software for custom hardware and software .
- Experience in full software stacks including Android/ChromeOS, Linux drivers, applications, and application automation.
- Experience in the configuration of various network devices and services (Routers, Firewalls, VPN, Proxy Connections, MPLS, QoS, etc).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Own power management and boot sequence of devices.
- Lead design, implementation, and validation of power management policies, firmware update policies, and peripheral services.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
