Exact Sciences is looking to change how cancer is prevented, detected, and treated by providing earlier, smarter answers to patients and clinicians. The Senior Engineer I will play a lead role in the design, development, and testing of software applications to support this mission.

Requirements

  • Understanding of and significant experience with object-oriented programming.
  • RESTful web services, Relational Databases (Postgres, SQL Server), and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, Entities Framework).
  • Designing and developing apps that access and or utilize cloud-based frameworks (e.g., Azure, Amazon AWS Services/SDKs, etc.).
  • Agile development tools; including, but not limited to, JIRA, Confluence repository.
  • C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, PL/SQL, .NET, Google Web Toolkit.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, CDK)
  • 5+ Years full-stack application development at enterprise level scale

Responsibilities

  • design, development, and testing of software applications
  • creating expert design concepts and foolproof debugging
  • resolve most issues and problems effectively with minimal oversight
  • design and create engineering specifications for building software programs
  • determine what development methodology to use after documenting software requirements
  • developing, enhancing, and sustaining software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices
  • Troubleshoot issues and problems of medium complexity for major software applications; break down complex tasks, make reasonable decisions, investigate and fix bugs, and operate independently.

  • This role requires onsite work in Madison, WI or Redwood City, CA.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.
