Axon's Data Ingestion & Movement team needs to scale its data movement platform 10-20x to meet surging onboarding demands, architecting and optimizing pipelines for throughput, reliability, and developer usability to address a critical problem in customer onboarding.
Requirements
- Experience designing for high availability, reliability, security, and performance
- Experience building complex and impactful software in a team environment
- Expert in at least one object oriented backend language such as C, Java, Scala
- Proven experience scaling distributed systems for 10x growth
- Experience with NoSQL databases, such as CosmosDB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra
- Experience with Devops technologies like Terraform, Github Actions, and Docker
- Experience building, operating and scaling data movement platforms
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features for the next generation Data Movement Platform
- Own throughput optimizations to support 10× data growth
- Work closely with customers and design top-priority features
- Lead engineering architecture and design reviews
- Build the technical roadmap for the Data Movement Platform

- This role is based out of our Seattle office and follows a hybrid schedule.
- We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
- Experience mentoring and growing junior engineers
- The starting base pay for this role is between USD 141,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 225,600 in the highest geographic market.
