Axon is looking to solve critical safety and justice issues with its ecosystem of devices and cloud software, and this role will contribute to the development of next-generation Body Worn Cameras and other Video products by leading the design and development of diverse wireless connectivity solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years RF design and integration experience
- 8+ years designing and optimizing wireless solutions for mass-produced battery-powered handheld, mobile, and/or wearable products (e.g., cell phones, action cameras)
- 5+ years designing chip-down cellular circuits (LTE, 5G RedCap, CAT4 and above)
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with complex multi-transceiver wireless systems engineering, integration, and RF circuit design for 4G, 5G, multi-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS wireless technologies in portable, mobile or wearable products
- Proven experience as a hands-on Lead RF Engineer, including all phases of product design, from concept to mass production .
- Proficient with technical oversight, design reviews, and management of RF design partners
- Strong hands-on proficiency with RF measurement equipment, measurement techniques, and evaluation criteria necessary to ensure robust and reliable wireless design
Responsibilities
- Lead the RF design and integration of high-performance wireless subsystems for compact, battery-powered devices (robotics platforms, controllers, and wearables) and other wireless hardware applications
- Design and optimize chip-down RF circuitry and integrate modules for technologies such as LTE, 5G, GNSS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies, ensuring robust performance across complex multi-radio systems
- Own the RF system architecture and execution from concept through mass production, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineering
- Partner with antenna engineers to select, evaluate, and integrate antenna solutions—printed, PCB, or metal—into high-density product designs
- Conduct RF system debugging, interference mitigation, and receiver de-sense analysis to optimize real-world performance
- Guide PCB layout for RF integrity, performing detailed layout reviews and driving design recommendations to ensure optimal wireless performance
- Characterize, test, and validate RF performance using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, radio testers, and RF chambers

- This role is based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Monday through Fridays unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
- Experience working within global cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills
