Requirements
- 6–8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend development
- Expertise in at least one of the following languages Python or Ruby on Rails
- Proven experience leading delivery of complex technical projects or 0–1 product development
- Familiarity with observability and experimentation tools, such as Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Mixpanel, Iterable
- Experience architecting complex systems or microservices
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and unblock other engineers
- Experience with AI/ML development and tooling
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable back-end services using Python and Ruby on Rails
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve member experience
- Expand and maintain existing web applications using modern AI technologies
- Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Provide technical leadership in architectural discussions, code reviews, and system planning
- Uphold high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and performance
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues

- Ability to work in a hybrid role based in New York City, with an expectation to be in office 2-3 days a week
