Samsara is looking to improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of physical operations by developing actionable insights from IoT data. The Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment business unit specifically aims to provide solutions for managing trailers and unpowered equipment, including tracking utilization, monitoring loads and temperature, and asset tracking.
Requirements
- Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React.
- Built and shipped a 0-1 product and understands how to scale for growth and business impact post that phase.
- Experience working with ML engineers and applied scientists to deploy machine learning models to production
- Understanding of how to build for stability and growth while being responsive to customer feedback.
- Prior experience working with geolocation data
Responsibilities
- deliver end to end solutions like tracking utilization of equipment, using sensors to monitor loads and temperature and asset tracking solutions that provide a complete picture of where a customer's assets are deployed.
- Bring a customer-focused mindset to all development, balancing the need to iterate quickly and deliver customer wins iteratively
- Partner with the Engineering Manager to advocate for long-term technical health of our products alongside product priorities.
- Act as a force multiplier on the team by leveraging other engineers and personally exemplify how to deliver value at Samsara
- Mentor other engineers by actively participating in design and implementation conversations across the team
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience in software development.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions.
