Rapid Strategy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer III to lead advanced software engineering, automation, and AI/ML integration efforts within secure AWS cloud environments at the highest classification levels (IL6+) for a classified program. The role requires deep software development expertise combined with experience architecting, deploying, and securing large-scale mission applications in the federal space.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full stack engineering experience, including database, server, and client-side development.
- Demonstrated expertise designing, developing, and deploying production-grade applications in AWS IL6+ classified environments.
- Advanced experience with multiple programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, JavaScript, React, AngularJS, TypeScript, or NextJS.
- Strong understanding of automation, testing, and deployment pipelines across large-scale, heterogeneous AWS environments.
- Proven experience integrating AI/ML pipelines into operational systems.
- Familiarity with zero-trust architectures, STIG compliance, and RMF control implementation for software systems.
- Experience with big data processing, event-driven architectures, and microservices design.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and deployment of high-performance applications and data pipelines in secure AWS cloud environments.
- Work with AI/ML teams to operationalize machine learning workflows and automate data ingestion, transformation, and deployment processes.
- Provide architectural leadership and advisement to ensure identity management, data, and analytics systems meet security and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with technical leadership and senior executives at a public-facing federal agency to deliver mission-aligned software solutions.
- Integrate DevSecOps best practices into development pipelines, driving automation, testing, and continuous delivery across classified cloud systems.
- Support full-stack development and deployment efforts leveraging AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS.
- Mentor development teams and guide secure coding practices, version control, and CI/CD implementation.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting large, public-facing federal agencies and working within multi-contractor environments.
