Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc. is seeking to design, implement, and validate next-generation infotainment features and system integrations for AFEELA vehicles, ensuring advanced user experiences, robust performance, and compliance with global standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development and debugging experience on embedded systems for commercial products, such as Android OS, QNX, embedded Linux, software frameworks, and applications.
- Familiarity with multimedia frameworks, HMI/GUI development, and connectivity stacks (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across both software and hardware domains.
- Direct experience developing on IVI platforms (Android Automotive OS, QNX, or embedded Linux).
- Hands-on experience building Android Automotive applications or services.
- Exposure to cloud service integration (voice assistants, streaming, OTA updates).
- Understanding of automotive cybersecurity and functional safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain IVI software modules, including applications, middleware, and OS components (Android Automotive, QNX, Linux, etc.).
- Debug and troubleshoot IVI software modules in collaboration with international development and QA teams.
- Conduct validation, performance tuning, and system optimization for real-time automotive use cases.
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to design and deliver responsive, intuitive user experiences.
- Provide developer support for partners and third parties contributing applications or frameworks.
- Support demo vehicle setup and perform problem analysis with global teams.
- Participate in requirements alignment and joint development activities with Japan HQ, partners, and external providers.
