Macy's is looking to develop and support applications leveraging expertise and knowledge of multiple systems/customer areas to build a robust, scalable, and reliable platform. The Senior Software Engineer will help shape the vision and architecture of Macy's next-generation incredible growth.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-grade observability and monitoring tools including Grafana, Moogsoft, Nagios, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and monitoring APIs.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native and open-source observability technologies such as Dynatrace, SentinelOne, Elasticsearch, SolarWinds, and ServiceNow.
  • Skilled in both Linux and Windows operating systems, along with shell scripting and automation.
  • Experience in scripting languages including Bash, Python, and Shell.
  • Familiarity with SQL/MySQL databases, Google Cloud Monitoring, and enterprise networking tools.
  • Expert understanding of all application development processes, serving as a resource to others.
  • Expertise in existing applications supporting the business area, ensuring systems perform up to requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform coding/configuration, testing, implementation, and documentation for developed solutions, including design specifications.
  • Conduct applications programming activities, encompassing coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying applications programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to extract, analyze, and report data, with a strong attention to detail when identifying data relationships, trends, and anomalies.
  • Consider the long-term impacts of key design decisions and handle failure scenarios effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and assess the suitability of new software tools for platform development.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to junior developers, including delegating and managing tasks as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
