Datadog's Container Autoscaling team is looking to build and evolve a Kubernetes Autoscaling product that helps companies optimize performance, improve efficiency, and reduce infrastructure costs by automatically adjusting Kubernetes resources.
Requirements
- You have a significant experience (7years+) as software engineer or platform engineer/SRE that helped you to become fluent in various languages (Golang, C++, Rust, C, Java,...)
- You have in-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, its APIs and some of its internals (APIServer, controllers, volumes, etc.).
- You’ve been part of a team operating or managing Kubernetes clusters used by internal or external customers
- You’ve built reliable and scalable backend applications.
- You already worked on a Cluster or Workload autoscaling project (for instance: HPA, VPA, Cluster Autoscaler, Karpenter, etc.) or product
Responsibilities
- Build both backend and in-cluster software (end-to-end flows) to power products providing both observability and automated actions
- Participate and contribute to upstream open-source communities
- Do it in Go, Python, or any language that fits the particular task at hand
- Design and write features that solve new problems in the industry
- Work on unsolved, cutting-edge problems to offer best in-class Autoscaling experience
- Have a significant impact on the product and the user experience of fellow engineers who use the product
