Experity is looking to solve the business and technical problem of leading and growing leaders within their software engineering organization to ensure consistent delivery of secure, high-quality software and to balance operational excellence with innovation.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in software engineering (NodeJS, Typescript, C-Sharp, .NET, Java, cloud architecture, microservices, distributed systems, or comparable stack) with enough depth to influence design and strategy.
  • Experience driving agile transformation, process improvement, and technical debt reduction
  • Demonstrated success in balancing operational efficiency with innovation.
  • Exposure to and advocacy for adoption of AI coding agents and developer efficiency tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Augment, ZenCoder, Cursor, Windsurf, Warp). Hands-on experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with architecture to shape the technical vision and ensure sound design decisions support long-term scalability and modernization.
  • Translate product goals into clear engineering strategies, balancing feature delivery with technical debt reduction.
  • Anticipate organizational needs, proactively plan for staffing, and align engineering priorities to company strategy.
  • Oversee multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality, secure releases on time.
  • Champion agile practices, CI/CD, automation, and adoption of AI-powered developer tools.
  • Review performance data and metrics regularly to ensure predictability and velocity in delivery.
  • Resolve conflicts constructively and ensure alignment across diverse priorities.

  • Directly manage and mentor engineering managers and individual contributors, ensuring clarity of accountability and support.
  • Build succession depth by identifying, empowering, and developing future leaders from among senior engineers and technical leads.
  • Provide structured feedback and career development planning that helps leaders and engineers thrive.
  • Create a culture where accountability, dependability, and reliability compound into team excellence.
  • Foster psychological safety and trust, ensuring every voice is valued while driving towards high standards.
  • Model a balance of empathy and rigor, holding teams to high expectations while demonstrating deep commitment to their success.
  • Drive seamless collaboration across Product, QA, Architecture, and Operations.
  • Represent engineering to executives and business stakeholders with clarity, precision, and strategic insight.
  • Eight plus (8+) years managing engineering teams, with at least 4 years managing managers or senior technical leaders.
  • Proven track record of scaling and mentoring engineering organizations. Experience managing distributed teams
  • Experience in modern and legacy technology environments, with demonstrated ability to lead through transitions.
  • Ability to travel as needed (minimal).
