Requirements
- Backend engineer with experience building server-side infrastructure and data processing
- Solid coding skills (C++ preferred)
- Experience in SLAM, Localization, or a related robotics field
Responsibilities
- Own business-critical infrastructure responsible for generating Waymo’s 3D map from raw sensor data
- Build robust backend systems and data processing that will scale with Waymo’s growth
- Make high-impact contributions across Waymo’s Mapping stack including infrastructure development, tooling improvements, and algorithm advances

- Strong sense of ownership and ability to thrive in ambiguity
- Proven track record of being able to apply a broad range of skills to effectively solve business problems
- Master’s in Computer Science, Robotics or related field
