athenahealth is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Network Experience team to strengthen and scale athenaConnect, the cornerstone platform for discovering, integrating, and managing healthcare connections within their cloud-based healthcare platform, athenaOne, enabling partners, builders, and integrators to create and securely deploy solutions.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, Webpack, and responsive HTML/CSS design patterns
- Experience with server-side JavaScript, especially Node.js
- Full-stack development experience and comfort navigating both frontend and backend systems
- Experience with AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with AI/LLM technologies (RAG, semantic search, prompt engineering) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, scalable software that supports a growing ecosystem of partners and integration experiences.
- Own features and services end-to-end, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and long-term maintainability.
- Proactively identify technical improvements that increase platform performance, reliability, and developer experience.
- Collaborate with product, design, architecture, and engineering teams across our zone to clarify requirements and deliver cohesive solutions.
- Mentor and support engineers through thoughtful code reviews, pairing, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Follow and contribute to coding conventions, architectural standards, and best practices.
