Google's Pixel Device Performance Software Team is responsible for all things performance for Pixel phones and tablets, from developing Operating System performance management software, tuning device policy, collecting performance metrics, and analyzing and profiling workloads. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with software development in C++ or C programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience in performance analysis and optimization of complex software systems.
- Experience working on the Linux kernel.
- 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
