Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The Android and Pixel Camera team is a collection of sub-teams organized around different parts of the camera stack, with some teams focused on Pixel specifically and some focused on the wider Android ecosystem, our mission is to build software experiences on the Pixel phones that leads the entire Android ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience developing software applications using the C++ programming language.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, templates, and the Standard Template Library (STL).
  • 5 years of Programming experience in C, C++, and Python.
  • 5 years of experience with Unix/Linux environments and the development of Linux device drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Pixel camera system software.
  • Software stack development to support Android camera Hardware Abstraction Layer(HAL).
  • Pixel camera peripheral driver development (Image sensor, OIS, VCM, EEPROM, Flash, etc).
  • Advanced Multi-Camera software frameworks and related use cases enablement.
  • Pixel camera performance, power and memory optimization and related tools development.
  • Emerging technologies exploration and prototyping.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with Camera Sensors, ARM or other low-power SoC architectures.
