Microsoft Capacity Infrastructure Service (CIS) Platform Team aims to provide a world-class platform and service to provide automation, orchestration, and in-depth metrics to facilitate Microsoft’s server capacity needs.

Requirements

• 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• 4+ years of experience working on backend systems.
• 3+ years of experience working on Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) and large distributed systems.
• 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, or Python

Responsibilities

• help develop a platform to automate hardware and devices provisioning/de-provisioning functions, datacenter operations, business processes, all through microservices, and deliver data analytics end to end.
• providing a highly scalable workflow execution engine, robust workflow authoring and software development kit (SDK) experience, and tools and automation to facilitate testing and rollout of workflows across the Platform.
• Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor our service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore our service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• This position is 100% fully remote, and candidates can choose to work fully from home, the office, or a hybrid of the two.
