Google's Ads team is tasked with optimizing value for advertisers, users, and Google through mechanism innovations, requiring the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of software solutions to improve user/advertiser value and optimize Long-Term Business for Google.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with software development in C++.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience in Auction and Mechanism design in industry or in an academic setting.
- 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Design experiments to evaluate hypotheses and tease out small-but-crucial effects in improving user/advertiser value.
- Write and test both code and documentations to evaluate new auction mechanisms and improve existing ones.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
