The GM Energy Engagement software engineering team is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and maintain scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and automation frameworks that support full-stack applications, to deliver a comprehensive suite of charging and energy products and services.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
- 3+ years with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC tools
- 5+ years scripting or programming in Python, Bash, or similar
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Understanding of networking, security, and system administration fundamentals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and safe deployment of web and mobile applications
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure infrastructure and deployment strategies align with application architecture
- Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline operational tasks and improve developer productivity
- Implement and manage observability solutions including logging, metrics, tracing, and real user monitoring (RUM)
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices across environments
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem processes
