Requirements
- Proficiency with containerized technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Proven ability to design, operate, and maintain distributed systems (monitoring, observability, automation, etc.)
- Proven development skills building backend API services using Python (preferred) and/or JavaScript
- Practical experience with asynchronous programming, type safety, threading models, state machines and data structures
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies including LLMs, AI Agents (LangChain, Google ADK, etc.)
- Track record designing client-agnostic APIs using REST and/or GraphQL
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0 fundamentals (authentication, delegated authorization, etc)
Responsibilities
- Define the technical vision and lead the architectural evolution of platform infrastructure that enables AI agents to thrive at Apple scale
- Drive strategic platform decisions, mentor engineering teams, and influence technical direction across multiple organizations
- Build and optimize the platform that supports our agentic ecosystem - from data pipelines and compute orchestration to monitoring and reliability systems
- Architect platform solutions that deliver flexibility, resilience, and cost optimization while meeting Apple's stringent security and privacy requirements
- Translate the unique requirements of agentic workloads into scalable platform capabilities that enable rapid innovation
- Lead cross-functional technical initiatives, establish platform engineering best practices, and drive the strategic roadmap for AI agent infrastructure at Apple
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams, data scientists, and infrastructure organizations
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 7+ years of experience in software architecture design and development
- 3+ years of experience in technical leadership roles focused on platform engineering or infrastructure
