Remitly is looking for a Software Engineer for the Treasury Engineering team to design and implement full-stack, innovative solutions to meet the needs of the Treasury business. They need to build resilient, scalable, and extensible systems and data flows that allow Treasury operations to manage, automate, and optimize foreign exchange trading, cash transfers, and disbursement of funds.
Requirements
- Expertise in one of the backend programming languages (Go, Kotlin/Java) and fluency in database technologies (e.g. RDS and NoSQL like DynamoDB).
- Experience leading other engineers on large features in collaboration with Product Manager, Analysts and other partners.
- Experience (or interested) in building and maintaining large scale FinTech systems.
Responsibilities
- Deliver scalable systems end-to-end, including development, launch, and long-term support with high autonomy and quality.
- Design and implement solutions for ambiguous and difficult problems involving multiple technologies and backend systems.
- Contribute to the team's technical strategy and system architectures balancing short-term goals with long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Guide engineering excellence by delivering well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions, improving team processes, and contributing to cross-team technical designs.
- Enhance team talent through mentoring, code review, interviewing, and ramping new hires.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support the team’s services.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts to achieve product and customer goals.
Other
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in a team environment
- For corporate team members, we have an in-office expectation of at least 50% of the time monthly, typically achieved by coming in three days a week.
- Managers also have the flexibility to set higher expectations based on their team's specific needs.
