Google's Agentspace team is building the core interface for customer interaction with AI across Google Cloud, aiming to design intuitive, scalable, and AI-powered product experiences that accelerate business and developer workflows. The Senior Software Engineering Manager for Frontend will lead and scale a team, set technical goals, and partner across product, design, and research to deliver user experiences.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
- Experience leveraging AI tools and workflows to increase engineering productivity and accelerate product development.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with product, design, and research to deliver intuitive, AI-powered user experiences at scale.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the frontend engineering team building Google Agentspace, while remaining capable when needed.
- Build, scale, and manage engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Partner with product, design, and research leadership to define and deliver intuitive, AI-powered user experiences at scale.
- Guide architecture and system design decisions, ensuring the frontend platform is performant, reliable, and adaptable for future growth.
- Mentor and develop engineers, setting clear goals and enabling them to own technical initiatives that shape the long-term goal of Agentspace.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
