Google Cloud's Looker business intelligence (BI) platform is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to help shape the future of data analytics for millions of users and solve critical business problems
Requirements
8 years of experience in software development.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
5 years of experience for system design, and building scalable and reliable back-end.
3 years of experience building Business Intelligence or Reporting/Visualization platforms and tools.
Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within, and often beyond, the scope of your teams. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
Oversee systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
Lead software engineering teams, drive execution of our product roadmap, and foster a culture of innovation and growth.
Anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate.
Work on a specific project critical to Google Cloud's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.

US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
