The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a team developing security solutions (Software Tools, BSPs, Firmware, etc.) around custom SoCs and embedded systems for defense, commercial, and aerospace applications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and agile software engineering best practices
  • Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and technical baseline requirements are met
  • Extensive software engineering and program execution experience, strategic planning, knowledge of software best practices, process improvement enablement, organizational planning, and supplier management protocols

Responsibilities

  • Manages the software engineering team responsible for development through production of leading-edge, secure board level and avionics box level software solutions
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Ensure that software estimating and Earned Value Management (EVM) best practices are utilized which include any programmatic planning and baselining activities as well as assessing proposals for accuracy and executability and proper identification and quantification of related risks.
  • Collaborate with and contribute to the success of software efforts across the division as well as more broadly into BDS and Enterprise software engagement.
  • Enable communication of relevant software status, risks, issues, recognition and other software related topics across program/functional leadership and to higher-level engineering and business leaders as needed.
