9th Way Insignia is seeking a Database Architect to support the Consolidated Corporate Support Services (CCSS) 2.0 contract for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Database Architect will be responsible for designing and modeling data structures to support enterprise financial and administrative systems. Aligned with Section 5.2 of the PWS, this role focuses on ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures that align with VA operational and modernization goals.
Requirements
- Experience leading architecture for large-scale federal IT systems.
- Knowledge of cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices design.
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture tools and modeling standards (e.g., TOGAF, UML).
- Strong understanding of system security, compliance, and accessibility requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and document system architecture aligned with business goals and technical requirements.
- Lead development of high-level and detailed architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and integration patterns.
- Guide software development teams in implementing scalable and maintainable systems.
- Ensure architectural solutions meet federal security, accessibility (Section 508), and performance standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather system requirements and propose optimized solutions.
- Conduct design reviews and recommend improvements across platforms and applications.
- Support DevSecOps integration, data interoperability, and cloud-native architecture planning.

- BD degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. or related field.
- 5 years of related professional experience.
