Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software/Systems Architect - Configuration Management to support the VA as a part of the Configuration Management Department (CMD).
Requirements
- Support establishment and maintenance of CMS toolsets to track CIs, changes, and dependencies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain CM policies, plans, and processes that align with stakeholder requirements, SAFe, IEEE 828, ITIL, NIST SP 800-53, and NIST SP 800-128 standards.
- Hands-on, expert-level performance in CM for large, complex systems and products, including multiple concurrent and parallel development efforts.
- Expertise includes working with source code and documents, branching/merging strategies, versioning, builds, authoritative source identification, baselines, traceability, repository management, and validation/verification/audits.
- Expertise in the complete lifecycle of system and product CM, from CI inception through end of life.
- Skilled in integrating CM within the SDLC, development, and automation processes.
- Implement configuration and automation management tools, processes, and CI/CD methods, as well as expertise with CI/CD frameworks, automation testing, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Leverage product/software configuration management and testing to evolve automation and product capabilities.
- Develop and refine AI prompts to analyze various NIST-related CM documents, including CM Plans, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with translating and/or documenting/diagraming recommendations and deliverables for product assurance and CI/CD directions.
- Assist and perform level 2 troubleshooting, spotting technical and integration issues.
- Support and assist with CI/CD pathway implementations and setups.
- Implement, use, and maintain repositories and databases, such as SQL, MS SQL, Oracle, Azure DevSecOps, and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) repositories.
- Business, technical and systems analysis, including analyzing, documenting, diagraming, and presenting detailed technical and business information.

- Develop materials to assist others in performing technical work.
- Author and present information for analysis, training, documentation, presentations, and reports.
- Support organizational program definition, documenting/training for programs, delivering services to technical and business customers, training delivery, providing ad-hoc CM assistance, and coaching/mentoring product lines, project teams, and experienced project configuration managers.
- Provide tools support and implementations of product management and configuration/lifecycle tools, such as Jira, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, ServiceNow, and a wide variety of open source, CI/CD and repository tools.
- Must be able to get a government public trust.
