Apple is seeking a Senior Software Triage & Automation Engineer to drive innovation in the Apple Service Engineering (ASE) team, building and integrating technologies that enhance people’s lives and enabling Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud Compute in the cloud.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in programming languages used for building systems (such as C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift)
  • Proficient Python skills for automation and data analysis
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and distributed systems debugging
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and issue-tracking systems (Jira, Radar, Bugzilla)
  • Experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Pandas, Jupyter) for identifying patterns in large bug datasets
  • Knowledge of machine learning applications in DevOps/AIOps
  • Experience with observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, ELK stack)

Responsibilities

  • Debugging, analyzing, and triaging complex issues across diverse stack elements, encompassing iOS, macOS, and cloud-based software components
  • Building and integrating technologies that enhance people’s lives
  • Enabling Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud Compute in the cloud
  • Designing systems to automate issue triaging and resolution processes
  • Investigating, categorizing, and providing root-cause hypothesis generation for incoming issues
  • Providing updates to leadership and offering guidance to development teams
  • Combining hands-on debugging with strategic automation to contribute to faster resolution and higher product reliability

Other

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, debugging, or triage engineering
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Background in customer-facing technical support or incident management
