Plateau Group is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to design, develop, and optimize SQL solutions that support business applications, while leveraging DBA expertise to ensure database performance, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in MS SQL Server development, with hands-on DBA exposure.
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and data modeling.
- Proven experience in query optimization, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server instances.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and design scalable, high-performance database solutions.
- Develop and maintain SQL Server objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Write efficient, well-structured T-SQL code to support application features and reporting needs.
- Optimize database schemas and queries for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing database logic and stored procedures.
- Support SQL Server installations, configurations, and upgrades as needed.
- Assist in monitoring and tuning database performance (e.g., indexing, query optimization).
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- This position will be hybrid with onsite support 3 days a week at the office in Fairfax, VA.
- Due to government contracting requirements, this role requires U.S. Citizenship.
- CompTIA Security + or willingness to obtain.
- DOD Secret Clearance or willingness to obtain.
