Peraton is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to support and manage on-premise and cloud-based SQL Server databases, ensuring operation, troubleshooting, and performing database restoration tasks
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of Database Administration (DBA) experience.
- Minimum of 8+ years database design including capacity planning, configuration, migration, performance monitoring, tuning, security, data recovery and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, and administration in an on-premise and cloud environment.
- Oracle DB certification; Version 12 or above.
- Expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and performance tuning in SQL Server environments.
- Proficiency in Python and PowerShell is highly preferred for automating tasks, managing databases, and supporting system administration.
- Knowledge of backup strategies, disaster recovery, and data restoration best practices.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and monitor both on-premise and cloud-based SQL Server environments.
- Review the existing database architecture; design a new database architecture to be implemented throughout the enterprise
- Install and configure databases that support various enterprise products and applications (SharePoint, Exchange, Customer Relationship Management, etc)
- Perform routine database maintenance, including version upgrades, backups, and database restoration
- Troubleshoot SQL Server-related issues, ensuring system availability and performance.
- Provide data analysis and create custom reports.
- Assist with configuring and managing data feeds to and from SQL Server across on-premise and cloud systems.

- Requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of BS can be considered
- IAT Level III required upon start date
