Skylight is looking to solve the problem of helping government agencies deliver better public services by using design and technology, and the data scientist will play a critical role in analyzing, validating and communicating grants data across the full lifecycle
Requirements
- Familiar with modern data engineering, including techniques for cleaning and preprocessing data from a variety of sources
- Ability to analyze a data set using the appropriate analytical method and can design, prototype, and build statistical models that are credible, effective, and accessible
- Ability to preserve privacy and security when performing data analysis
- Can articulately communicate your data, models, and findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to use the appropriate visualization tools to highlight actionable insights, trends, and recommendations from data
- Experience with Palantir Foundry
- Familiarity with Power BI
Responsibilities
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modeling
- Present information using data visualization techniques
