Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior System Engineer to lead system-level design, integration, and optimization for their AI-driven Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, storage and system integration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
- Prior experience with performance, load, and stress testing in large-scale distributed system
- Experience with cameras, IoT devices, video streaming, and media processing.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain system-level integrations between edge devices, backend services, and external systems in cloud or on-prem environments.
- Manage large-scale system deployments, configurations, and runtime operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system bottlenecks, conduct performance tuning, and improve end-to-end reliability.
- Design and implement observability solutions, including logging, metrics, tracing, and real-time alerting, to ensure system visibility and uptime.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving device firmware, networking, storage, and backend services.
- Drive system validation, stress testing, fault tolerance testing, and infrastructure optimization.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure, or SRE roles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve cross-layer system issues.
- Knowledge of security and privacy considerations in video surveillance systems.
